To expand your outfit potential, keep fabric and color in mind. For instance, going with water-resistant materials (rather than super absorbent ones) and natural fibers will keep you dry and happy. Darker colors are usually preferred over lighter shades since they wear better if they happen to get wet.
What are the things we can wear on rainy days? Some ideal rainy season clothing would be rain coats, rain ponchos, rain jackets or rain suits, cargo pants or water resistant shorts, waterproof boots, sandals or flip flops.
Obviously the best outfit for a rainy day will involve wellies and raincoat (a classic choice is always a black raincoat and a pair of black wellies - they'll go with anything) but other elements can have an affect on the attire we choose.
If you want to stay dry and comfortable, look for water-resistant clothes, especially performance fabrics that can help wick away moisture to keep you cool and comfy. As far as natural fabrics, cotton and linen are very cooling, but can hold on to moisture a bit.
Middle Layer- A middle insulating layer, like a sweater, fleece, or thermal shirt can add an extra layer of warmth. This layer should be snug, but not tight fitting. Base Layer- Polyester or any wicking material is the best choice for your base layer. Avoid cotton for this layer, as any moisture will sit on your skin.
Think: a denim jacket, a lightweight, quilted jacket or, if there's wet weather in the forecast, a sleek rain coat. If you're looking for something casual and sporty, Nike windbreakers, anoraks and track jackets have you covered when the temperature is hovering around 60 degrees.
Color. Colors that will become transparent when wet should be avoided. When it rains, wear dark-colored clothing to avoid stains. Dark colors also help to conceal body parts that are easily visible when wet in the rain.
But breathable and cozy materials like cotton, rayon, linen, and satin can handle all these. Lightweight materials like chiffon and silk should be avoided during the monsoon because they can stick to the body when wet.
A great basic look for everyday wear is a dressier take on your classic jeans and a t-shirt look. Put on some dark wash skinny jeans, a well-made top, and a leather jacket or blazer. Slip on some wedges, bangles and dangly earrings. If it's a windy day, accent the look with a scarf.
One of the most important parts of dressing like a lady is showing skin sparingly. You don't have to only wear pants and shirts with high necklines, but try not to expose too much cleavage or wear skirts and shorts that are super short. It's also a good idea to avoid wearing excessively tight clothing to stay classy.
Raincoats can actually be a fashion statement among kids. There are different styles in the market available not that can be worn with their inner clothes to match. Raincoats can cover your child more under the rain and make sure they do not get wet inside especially if the rain comes with some wind.
1. Stylish waterproof leather boots designed to be worn on both city streets and trails, making them a versatile, everyday pick people probably won't guess is a hiking shoe. They have sealed seams and "Thinsulate" insulation to help your toes and socks stay toasty warm and dry.
Jeans are OK for light rain although we don't recommend wearing them for heavy rainy days or when you're outside in the rain for extended periods of time. Opt for leggings instead. (Wearing wet clothes in cold temperatures can cause hypothermia.)
You should choose to wear jeans in the rain 100% of the time. Now, both jeans and sweatpants will absorb the rain as time passes, making them wet. However, sweatpants will do this much faster than your denim jeans.
On dreary days, choose a happy color: pull out your brightest yellow, orange, or pink to combat the gloom. I once read a New Yorker's impassioned plea to her fellow citizens to opt for a cheerful umbrella instead of the ubiquitous black, because the last thing we need to see on a dreary day is a sea of black nylon.
Hoodies are not inherently waterproof, but they can provide some protection against light rain. The hood can help protect your head from drizzles, and the fabric may resist light moisture. However, for heavy rain, it's best to pair your hoodie with a waterproof jacket or an umbrella to stay dry and comfortable.
