STATE COLLEGE, Pa. –Rutgers baseball dropped Sunday's rubber game to Penn State by a score of 11-10at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park on Sunday afternoon.

The Scarlet Knights (27-23, 5-16) jumped out to an early lead, buttheNittany Lions(23-22, 9-12) would score four runs in the ninth to win the series.

For the second straight day, PSU took an early lead with an unearned run the bottom of the first.

RU answered with three in the top of the second, using a sac fly from Cameron Love and RBI singles from Johnny Volpe and Josh Kuroda-Grauer to take a 3-1 advantage.

After a Penn State RBI groundout make it 3-2, the Scarlet Knights broke out for six runs in the top of the fourth. Love put down a sac bunt to score one, Kuroda-Grauer singled in another and then three straight bases-loaded walks and a hit-by-pitch all scored a run each to push the score to 9-2.

The Nittany Lions chipped away with three in the bottom of the fourth, one in the fifth and another in the eighth to bring the score to 9-7.

Love tripled in Pete Durocher in the top of the ninth to make it 10-7. Penn State led off the bottom of the ninth with back-to-back solo home runs, tied it on a wild pitch and walked it off with a single into left field.

Rutgers returns to action for its final series of the season at home against Ohio State. Game oneis set for 6 p.m. on Thursday night.
