Well, I've rather wondered how well it works too, as I don't want to download it unless it gets glowing recommendations. I'm by way of missing a real AH....

Sunday night is bidding night. Sometimes a guild will lose their trader, so if the listing is from before the turnover time, it will still show the old guild.

Also, a trader will sometimes be in the outlaw's refuge or a random wayshrine in a zone. Deshaan isn't always Mournhold, for example.

It's also always best to sort listings by "last seen".

also, it doesn't update listings in real time, there is maybe an hour delay? so there is a good chance that listing you saw was uploaded by the very person who bought the item.

This, the system work by sending guild store listings to an external database, this is used for building up the database you can browse.
You can also use this page https://eu.tamrieltradecentre.com/pc/Trade
Note that the to good to be true offers is likely to be gone, its still an very nice way to find price estimates or finding rarer items.

This is usually due to something being listed in a guild store that is no longer attached to a guild trader.

It's a bit of a catch-22: on interesting or well priced items, the person who's PC uploaded the hit is often the person who took the goods home with them.

But isn’t something like this open to abuse?.. it does not tell you if the item no longer listed was sold or removed from listing status which says to me that anybody (or even worse a group of people) could inflate average market prices by schil listing items, browsing the guild store so these items get added to the database and then removing them from the store. Over a period of time in demand items could be forced to be more expensive than they necessarily need to be and then the dishonest seller/s relist at what seems to be super cheap price all of a sudden and get the vast majority of sales.

    TTC isn't MM.

In any case, I see 20 paranoid speculations about 'price fixing' and MM for every 1 -actual- price fixing via MM.
It's heavily overrated how much 'price fixing' that goes on on the trade market.

Tamriel Trade Centre is a useful tool for finding the right item/s.
I don't have the addon installed but I do search on their website from time to time.

Though it is often not accurate.
For example, I listed an item in a guild in Mournhold, but other guild in Mournhold received the listing(on Tamriel Trade Centre) like it was one of it's members was listing it.
When I came to check a few minutes later if someone listed the same item for the same price in the other guild I noticed that no such item is being sold there and it was my item being listed in the wrong guild(on Tamriel Trade Centre).

As a casual player who just wants to occasionally buy items I can't easily get myself without spending ages on it I love TTC.

No it's not 100% reliable, but the alternative is to take a wild guess at where you might find the item/s you want and potentially end up spending ages going around traders hoping you randomly stumble across it. TTC at least gives me a chance of finding the item I want on the first try and it's saved me a huge amount of time - which I then get to use actually playing the game.

I recently installed the addon so I can contribute to the data that's uploaded. Not that I visit traders often, but I figured every update helps.

I do also have MM which is what I mainly use for price data - as my understanding is that's based on actual sales rather than current listings, so it's more reliable IMO. I tend to sort the TTC listings by both last updated (so I see the ones most likely to still be there) and by price so I spot any which are far more expensive than the average then pick the best options to actually go and find.

The most important thing is that players notice that the price suggestion of TTC is the last crap on earth.

    Without it, it's quite usable.

It is depending on user that scan Guild Stores and upload those prices to TTC server. Scanning takes time during which items might have been sold already. Each time a user interact with guild store game download a copy of database to client even without TTC add on, so that is how ESO work.

I haven't seen any indication on malware, so you could poster provide proof of this?

The main time limit is that ESO only saves data on /reloadui or logout, so any scanned listing is not available for the upload app until one of these occurs, so could be minutes or hours after the actual scanned data is even available to start this process

Also keep in mind there's always a guild trader in the Outlaw Refuge

This is a very good point. Generally if you aren't familiar with the usual names and locations and you find lower prices with a really unfamiliar name, it's likely that the trader in question is in the outlaw refuge of that particular location. Took me awhile at first to figure this out lol

I use TTC a lot both for buying and also for selling, it is very easy to get your sales listings to show up on the website!

Ofc you need the exe. file open for this.

Simply fill your sales slots in your chosen Guild Store, then scan the store with the addon, followed immediately by a /reloadui.

This will almost immediately post all of scanned items onto the web site for all to see. Tbh you actually don't even really need to scan the whole store, just filling available slots followed by a /reloadui will put all your recent postings onto the web site. I just scan whole stores if I have listings from previous days still for sale, as this will reset the "last seen" time to now rather than say 12 hours ago.

You may do /reloadui, but most wont especially with MM taking it's own sweet time to give you a working game back since a few updates ago & I'd guess most running TTC also run MM on the same char/s

more or less what I said. if you are, say a TTC user and come across a great listing - you buy it, addon scans it, uploads it to site once you log out, or reload UI.. and... the listing shows up on the website, despite no longer existing in a store. it eventually gets removed from the website, when someone else scans listings in original store and the item is no longer there, but it can take a while. i've seen listings on TTC that say "last seen 8 hours ago" that are most definitely no longer in a store, but the site hasn't gotten updated yet. so generally, when using TTC to shop, I go by most recently seen and the price that is about average to MM sales data (personaly I always cross reference).

using TTC to find good deals is just about pointless. using TTC to narrow down your search to find an item, period is pretty decent. using it to cross reference prices with MM, I found to be VERY useful.

I think another problem is that when you approach the Guild Trader, there is a guild name on their 'flag' that doesn't represent the actual GUILD that's located there. So you have to actually access each Guild Trader and check their listed name. I was confused by this once and ran around to several guild traders in an area and none of their 'flag' names matched the guild I was looking for... it wasn't until I actually accessed them that I realized that the name displayed when looking at their flag was not the same as the Guild Trader.

If you buy a lot eventually you’ll start to learn where to go for certain items. For example, there’s a nice one in Summerset I go to for motifs, a good place for furnishing recipes in Vvardenfell, a good deal on furniture mats in Elden Root.

Eventually you’ll get a feel for fair item prices too which makes it less dire to have TTC or MM.

and actually the site would exist. theyd just have to check for stuff in various guild stores which i think they already do.
